ICE SHOCK – author copies have arrived!

The Joshua Files: Ice Shock

Squeals of joy. Two boxes arrived – one for me, one of copies to sign for prizes on swapitshop.com.

I played with them, like dolls. I arranged them in little stacks and next to doughnuts and took photos. I didn’t give them a bath or dress them, but I almost hugged them.

Tomorrow I might hug them. I really might.

They’re beautiful! When I took Invisible City into a school recently the children went absolutely wild about the cover – I’m sure they will feel the same about book 2. (Oh, and the words are pretty good too.)

Wow MG – those look great!! I’ll definately be looking out for them in my local bookshop – not that I’ll be able to miss them with such a fab cover!!

It must be so exciting to hold the finished item in your hand!

Thank you all SO much! I really hope you’re going to enjoy it. My agent, publishers, me, we’re all thrilled with the final result (inside and out!)

Could these beautys possibly be, even more amazing than INVISIBLE CITY!? They have such a nice yellow-greeny glow, as far as i can see in the photo. Looks really nice!
The whole book is an award winner, wonder if you could beat some more fastest selling records 🙂
Btw, i found a countdown timer app on facebook, sent you an invite, thought you might like it for the Joshua Files group.

In Borders yesterday, the woman in the children’s department waved her uncorrected proof copy at me (bookmark partway through) and promised it would be in “some time in March”. And then she said nice things about Invisible City!

Wow Una, thanks for telling me!
You could have just swiped her proof and explained that you were a personal friend of the author…
I hope the Borders lady is enjoying it!

Thanks for the question, Elliott. I’ve been fascinated with the Mayan civilisation since I was a teenager. Its origins, the collapse, and of course the fact that the calendar ends in 2012. Thought it might make an interesting backdrop for an adventure story…and since it’s going to be 2012 soon…well I thought best to get on with writing it!

A film called 2012 is at this year, based on the mayan calender ending too…just thought you might like to know 🙂

hello. i just joined. i love your books mg. i really do. i bet that they would make a great film..
